Thinking About Using Wedding Republic?
Here's How It Works...
Frequently Asked Questions
How Much is it?
Wedding Republic is completely free for the couple. Unlike other websites, we do not charge any fees to withdraw your funds.
How does WR make money?
We charge a 5.5% administrative fee to each guest that contributes towards your registry (about half of what you would pay in shipping and taxes with a traditional wedding registry).
How secure is your payment processing system?
Wedding Republic uses WePay, a PCI compliant, integrated payment gateway in order to process all transactions (also used by major brands such as Meetup, Constant Contact and others).
This means that all payments are conducted securely and the system for processing and transmitting cardholder data is compliant with PCI DSS and the Card Associate Compliance program.
In addition, Wedding Republic does not store credit card information. While this means guests would have to re-enter their information if they wish to make another purchase, we believe those few extra moments are worth your piece of mind. You can learn more about WePay here.
How secure is the site?
Security is our first priority. Wedding Republic uses 256-bit SSL (secure socket layer) certification to provide encryption between your web browser and our web server so that personal information can be transmitted over the Internet securely.
Here’s how you can tell if a transaction is being transmitted in a secure fashion:
1. The web address bar turn green.
2. A lock symbol appears in the web address bar.
3. The web address begins with "https".
You can feel confident that you and your guests’ financial transactions are conducted in a safe and secure manner.
Where is the money held?
The funds are held in your WePay account which you are able to create upon registering for Wedding Republic. You'll be able to withdraw your funds at anytime, with no additional charges or transaction fees. Learn more about WePay here.
How do we collect our money?
To collect your funds, login to your WePay account and connect your bank information. Once this has been done, you'll be able to depost your funds directly into your account. The process is very similar to a PayPal withdrawal!
